Health and Virtual classroom update

Dear Parents, students, and staff,
We sent out email to our followers this past Monday regarding our Safety health practices and new health policies.
So far none of our staff of students has been affected, but we started to offer online classes starting yesterday and we already had students who were successfully able to log in and join our class virtually!
Please find our email that went out Monday, 3/9/2020 to read about reminders and tips.
We are planning to start remote learning as early as this Saturday 3/14/202, but you have an option to start this remote learning TODAY!  So please prepare following:
1. We are using company zoom.us.  Make sure you or your child has a computer with camera/audio or cell phone/ipad with camera/audio.
2. On the computer download software from zoom.us. Or download app to your cell phone or ipad. Create an account.
3. We will have classes posted on our MAS public calendar Make sure to join kt.
4. If you want to join a specific class and don’t have time to set up calendar yet, please text 201-887-2187 and we will send you a class (zoom calls it MEETING) unique number so you can join us remotely.
5. If you like to pick up your supply box, pls text us first to make sure we are in the studio. But we are working on curriculum that will reflect the remote classroom setting.

Below are the health reminders and tips:
Actions Master Art Studio has taken:
  • We increased cleaning and disinfecting of our classrooms in the past weeks
  • We have reminded our community that anyone who is ill, has been in contact with a person who is ill or thinks they may be ill to stay home from class and seek medical care, as necessary.
  • If child is sneezing or coughing (regardless the absence of fever), they should not attend a class.
  • Notify us as soon as possible if you can not attend a class to set up a virtual class for your child
  • We are in the process of testing virtual classroom setup starting today. If your student is sick and can not attend a class, tonight you can start testing our virtual classroom setup. Even if your student comes to class, parents may be able to join us for a brief period of time to establish contact. See the invitation at the bottom of this email.
  • Our janitorial and teacher’s team is aware of elevated health concerns in our classrooms and is responding appropriately. Commonly touched areas, such as doorknobs, light switches, and handles are being disinfected daily. We are also sanitizing and disinfecting learning spaces and materials.
Preventive actions our students and staff should take to help prevent the spread of respiratory infections:
  • All students, family members, visitors, caregivers, faculty members, and specialists must wash their hands with soap and water upon entry into MAS school. Hand-washing with soap and water is always the best option, but antibacterial gel is also available.
  • Wash your hands upon entering MAS and throughout class often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze into an elbow or with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Parents, please go over preventive actions we recommend to keep everyone safe.
Thank you and be safe,
MAS
